RETOUR

MARYAM IZADIFARD

Born in Tehran in 1982, I graduated from the Faculty of Art and Architecture Fine Arts program, at the University of Tehran in 2007. I left Iran to pursue graduate studies in the visual arts in 2011. Having obtained a diploma of French proficiency, I entered the Master’s Program in Visual and Media Arts of the University of Quebec in Montreal.

The influence of the intimate and private environment or space is key to my understanding of the feminine condition. What makes me a woman? By analyzing these spaces, I explore the tensions between emptiness and occupation that they convey. When the human being is absent, is that private space truly empty?
